amid. . . .
is a poem made by ripping words and phrases from the newspaper, selected without deliberate intention but because they called to me, then without forcing order, stitched onto hand-dyed fabric.
this poem was made along with several other ladies making poems at our Threads of Meaning workshop at The Quilter’s Alley.
I’m experimenting with dyeing fabric with round rusty objects. (One of the reasons I am so excited about the horseshoe.) This is a silk top I found at the Goodwill store. I plan to apply more color, but I’m excited about the beginning. Thank you, Roxanne Lasky of the Quilter’s Alley for always being an amazing inspiration.
